These images pay tribute to binary, the underlying matter of our digital world.
The symbols for 'zero' and 'one' are used in an attempt to make work with subject matter that is contemporary and relevant; I don't want to paint poodles or pots (but if you do like paintings of pots here are some I made especially for you).
These collages were made in response to my final days working in newspaper print production before being 'given the chop'. They were constructed from the printouts of pages that I in made Quark, pages repeating the word 'god' in binary (which, by the way, is 010001110110111101100100). The pages were torn-up and kicked about the studio floor for months before I pasted them down to form the final collages.
Virtual worlds can be created in code.
