Gravity in my painting

Heat Sink, oil on canvas.

I prefer my paintings to have gravity, a top and a bottom, a right way up, ever though I attack them from all sides with the canvas flat on the floor.

Sounds pretentious, but I try to aim for an 'image' with an ‘assertive presence', something that ‘stares back’ at you.

Too poor to afford a studio I paint where I can, when I can, which is totally awful and explains why I spend so much of my time making collages out of tiny bits of paper on my coffee table.

Note: I later go on to build a humble ‘studio/shëd’ (man-cave) in my garden.
